Burger? Oui, oui!

Bonjour! Was pleased to finally get out for another burger at lunch today, and headed out to a French Steakhouse & Bar in Domain Road, South Yarra called Entrecote. Inside is kinda fancy, but it also offers a more relaxed atmosphere in the bar and outside patio area – phew!

With only one burger on the menu, the choice was easy – the “Entrecote Cheeseburger with frites” – that’s French Fries to you and me! This was a very simple, very tidy and very, very tasty little burger! Just meat, cheese and pickles – simple! The patty was sensational, and the bun….. mmmmmm…… so good! Brioche of course!! I’d be offended if a French place served their burger on anything else!!

The only criticism was that there seemed to be a lot of pickle for a little burger, but it still packed a lot of punch for flavour and was probably the “neatest” and cleanest burger I’ve had – it should be given the limited ingredients.

French fries on the side were decidedly tasty, and in the absence of the standard Corona (for some reason a French place didn’t stock Mexican beer?! Go figure?! lol), I went with the recommended Hawkers Pale Ale, which turned out to be a perfect combination.

Probably a little over priced at $20, but definitely a good experience and worthwhile giving it a try.

As they say, “we will always have burgers”…….. Au revoir!
