It was just so Easey!

The festive season has had me very busy. Unfortunately, not busy with lots of new burgers!! It has been 2 weeks since my last burger outing, and I wanted to make today’s adventure a good one, so I headed to Easey’s in Collingwood. I have heard so much about this place, and I finally got there today!!

This train themed burger joint feels cool the minute you walk in. It’s a steady climb up the stairs to the rooftop where there are 3 refurbished, Melbourne train carriages. The path leads you up into the carriage where it has been refit as a restaurant and bar. The pull down windows and original orange and brown checkered seats are still there, together with dining tables and a small bar. In the past, this would have been full of school kids or corporate types reading the paper or nodding off to sleep as they travel to work, and now its full of burger lovers enjoying the great views of the city while they eat.

The menu offers a good variety of options, but once the waiter gave me the first option, I was ready to order. I went “All the way to Flinders”, which is a combination of their signature burger, “Melbourne Madness” – double beef patty, triple American cheese, bacon, potato cake, dim sim, jalepenos, pickles, onions, ketchup and mustard PLUS….. Easey’s fried chicken! Yes, you read that correctly! Although, I went without the jalepenos as I wasn’t in the mood for anything too hot!

This burger came out and it looked perfect. It was hard to get my mouth around it, but once I did, the combination of flavours were amazing!! The patties were so tasty, and they worked perfectly with the chicken, and surprisingly the dim sim too! It was like a gourmet burger had smashed head on into some fish n chips, and I was in heaven!!

The chips on the side were awesome, and it was all washed down with Easey’s Home Brew!!

Therefore, we have a new leader and rightly so too! Sitting in the train made the experience even more exciting, so you should definitely make this place your next stop!! (pun intended!)
