Bend for 1,000 pounds?

Hey, burger lovers! Was in the CBD today, so took advantage of the situation and headed to a place called, “1000 £ Bend” in Little Lonsdale Street. An unassuming place that was like a commercial factory, with concrete floor, but a bar and tables set up and a kitchen out the back. It was a very casual and laid back atmosphere.

I went straight for the “Wagyu Build a Burg” which starts with patty, lettuce and onions on a toasted brioche bun. Then, you can add your other ingredients, so I went tasty cheese, tomato, BBQ sauce, bacon and egg. Upon squashing down this beast, I discovered how runny the egg was as it oozed everywhere, but I soldiered on and got stuck into it.

The burger was ok. Meat was reasonably tasty, but didn’t make me weak at the knees or anything. Lettuce was rocket (I’m an iceberg or cos kinda guy) and red onions were too over powering. All this made for an average experience, except for the standard Corona to wash it all down!

Whilst they have $10 burger nights on Tuesdays, today was an expensive outing as you have to pay $1 to $3 for each of the “extra toppings” and I don’t know about you, but having to pay $1 for BBQ sauce seems a bit rich to me!! Either drop the price or improve the quality I say!

What ingredients would you have added?
