After a long gap between burgers, I was super excited to be finally getting back out for a burger and had arranged to meet someone at “The Fish & Burger Co.” in Doncaster. This place has been on my list for a while, so I was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, as soon as I arrived, the person I was meeting had a mini emergency to attend to and had to leave suddenly. Without wanting the trip to be a waste, I pushed on with my burger adventure all by myself.

I ended up ordering the “Mac Daddy” which came with 150g grass fed brisket patty, American cheddar, bacon, lettuce, Mac & cheese croquette, Spanish onion, pickles, mustard, mayo and to top it off, I decided to add some fried chicken to the mix too! This was a very tidy looking burger and I couldn’t wait to get stuck into it.

The beef was really tasty, and combined well with the fried chicken too. Mac n cheese and bacon were also really good. However, the flavour of the mayo was average and there was way too much of it, which took over the taste of the burger. I would have preferred caramelised onion, rather than red onion too.

Chips on the side were ok, and this time I tried out their in house Craft Pale Ale too. According to the label, it was “made with passion, crafted with love”, although it didn’t really hit the spot for me.

Overall, the experience was ok, and I certainly wasn’t completely disappointed, yet at the same time, I also wasn’t blown away either. It was one of those burgers that I would say is worthwhile trying out yourself.
